Cristian received a M. Sc. degree in Natural Science from the University of Padua in Italy where he focused on the concept of Ecological Networks as mean to create connections between natural areas in the urban environment in order to facilitate animal movement and reduce in-breeding. Cristian has worked as ecologist at The Natural Science Institute of the Westfjords since 2008. His research focuses on marine benthic and intertidal habitats as well as insects and birds. Cristian recently started a monitoring program focusing on the Arctic Tern (Sterna paradisaea) and the Glaucous Gull (Larus hyperboreus) throughout Westfjords. He also developed Birdspot, a mobile application which is intended to facilitate birdwatching in the region.
