Margrét received a B.Sc. degree in geography from the University of Iceland. After studying quality management and project management, she studied aquaculture at Hólar University College (HUC) and completed her practical studies at Arnarlax. She is currently working towards a M.Sc. degree in aquatic biology at HUC with a focus on wild salmonids and sea lice. Fish- and salmon lice as well as the environmental impact of aquaculture have been Margrét´s area of expertise for several years. Margrét has been the station manager at the The Nature Research Institute of the Westfjörds southern outpost since 2016.
